How to make a rattan lampshade?

Be assured of the Rattan Lamp Shades’ quality at every stage of production as Arteco Phu Hy thoroughly modifies and controls each product to ensure the best quality when it reaches to customers.

Step 1: Cut the rattan

One of the most important steps of making a rattan lampshade is preparing the right elements. Rattan is a solid and straight material but it also means the material must be split into small parts in order to bend and weave the shade.

Step 2: Prepare the metal frame

Most rattan shades feature a metal frame to maintain their shape and guarantee uniformity across the lampshade. This metal frame should also be thoroughly powder-coated so that it is not rust.

Step 3: Weave the rattan onto the metal frame

In the process is attaching the rattan strips to the frame. Our artisans will weave the pattern as design of lampshade with support of frame. This stage takes a high level of competence since the rattan will not come off the frame once it is fastened.

Step 4: Spray the color on the lampshade (if required)

If customers want a more colorful tone rather than the natural rattan one, we can spray the paint onto it once the weaving is completed. The common colors are white, black, brown.

Step 5: Drying

After the spraying stages, products will be dried using sunshine or a dryer in the warehouse to get best moisture. The ideal moisture is under 18% for rattan lampshade.

Lampshades are dried under the sun then dried by machine in warehouse to get the best moisture.

Product Inspections

In this section, we will check the product’s size, color, amount of moisture, and overall quality of lampshades.
